Inspired by Alice Fox I had a go at making my own Dandelion cordage.
Gather long Dandelion stems after they have seeded and dried them out in my attic bedroom under the sky light, warm and dry with air circulation.

After a few weeks they had dried out nicely and have beautiful colour variations.
Tried off the heads and soaked for a few minutes to soften up the fibers ready for making making cordage.

Making cordage is a process of twisting the fibers together and overlapping then adding in new fibers gradually, turning many Dandelion stems into a long piece of cord/ rope. It is very strong. Can then be used in other craft or makings. Or just makes really good strong twine.
A very meditative process and a usefull resource..

| I really love the colours and the texture of the stems when dry are quite straw like and would make a good material to nest my cyanotype eggs. |
