Cabinets of curiosities

 

My little dragon fly has been leading me in a few different directions, and always curios about the darker aspects I followed him into the gothic world of curiosity cabinets.
thinking about the natural history element and the act of collecting and owning things.
I'm also interested in the fact that amongst the real items in the cabinets, the more unusual the better, they would have faked thing such as "unicorn horn" and supposed remains of other mythical creatures.
while researching this I came across Sabrina Brewer, a modern artist working in this aesthetic, she is an Avant-garde taxidermy sculpture artist creating very curios creatures. I look at her work in more detail in my artist research. 
 

I would like to create my own curiosity cabinet as part of my final piece.

The idea of my dragonfly faerie sitting alongside some found objects and made objects could work well.
