Dragonfly sculpture part one.

Thinking about natural history, pinned and framed insects, adding a human aspect, and how the paper cut dragonfly looked like the sillouette of a fairy I wanted to develop the idea. I created this character of a pinned, masked insect in my above sketch and am working to develop it into a 3D sculpture.

I made a simple representation of the dragonfly body from clay.With holes for attaching wings, then  a clay mask/ face for it to wear, representing human attachment to nature and magic. The face is a bit elf like . I'm not sure if this is the face I want to go with or if a more human, or even generic mask would look better?

unfortunately I snapped the tail so I'm not going to fire this work I will use it as a mock up and see where it leads as I experiment more with wing like structures.
