Linocut Lady Caroline Lamb

I'm interested in the characters at Newstead and the stories of their privileged lifestyles we heard on the tour.This is a bust of Lady Caroline Lamb who was the lover of Lord Byron and the person who reputed him as being Mad, bad and dangerous to know.

I made an initial pencil sketch of her which I transferred to a lino cut. I'm quite interested to use linocut in this project, at least for an initial investigation of the key characters.

 

I developed the lino further and cut away the background to create a silhouette. I've tried a blue/ black colour mix on this one for a softer effect than pure black.
