SCREEN PRINTING

I used two high contrast black and white prints of the scanned dragonfly to create  paper cuts for a two part screen print.

I cut out the whole body shape leaving a few details on the tail and the ripped wing to create the base print in hot pink. I made a second paper cut, picking out a few details and created another screen to printed over the base print with black. 

I'm so please with the result, the image is really sharp and vibrant on the white paper.

I did the same process on black background but I feel the image gets lost as it's too subtle. I prefer the white background.

The base print paper cut silhouette looks like the silhouette of a faerie. How does that tie into our fabricated nature theme?  I'm thinking super nature, hyper nature.. a fabricated tale... I'd like to explore that idea further.
