Willow pattern and gold leaf

Again using motifs to experiment with material and techniques.

I created the blue willow pattern influenced tree by drawing with water and bleeding blue ink  drops to create a watery effect.

I added gold leaf to the trunk and branches,

I really like the colour combination.

Reshuffling the idea of crockery into an illustration.

I'd like to experiment more with familiar Newstead symbols and incorporate them into the willow pattern design.

I found this fabulous make up artist on Instagram who created this human crockery look...

A very rough sketch of the blue pattern again and overlaying some sketches of things I photographed in the house. A crow, a rams skull, human skull and a kingdom of heaven badge from a suit of armour.

Combining lino print with the ink drawing
For collage effect.
This is paper from mixed media sketch book. Nice bleed effect but very white.
Mixed media paper this time I've added salt when wet as it absorbs some of the wetness and gives soft effect and texture. Salt rubs off when it's dry

Water colour paper is very absorbent, doesn't curl and gives a soft blur effect to the ink.

This is seabright A5 Sketchbook cartridge paper. The ink pools thickly on this paper and gives a nice texture and richness of the ink.
