More Ants!

From my ant sketch I created a lino cut stamp. This gives me the possibility to create an image with an army of ants.

I like the idea of multiple ants and calling it a sisterhood/ army. An image they are the workers marching on relentlessly but I think I also like the idea of taking a single ant and giving her an identity and status and recognition. Elevating it to a state of privilege but really just to ask a question or to see it in a different way, you don't often see a singular ant. However the multiples suggest or represent more successfully the division of wealth. I will make more work and see what images progress. 

Printing over the blue pattern I've been experimenting with.
I like this print, however I feel its too modern and illustrative to be in keeping with the atheistic of the Abbey.
