Pelvis print development

womb like, water colour experiment

Test print on cotton fabric.

I Really like the way the pelvis lino print turned out. It was inspired by one of the water colour folded print experiments I initially made while exploring the technique of making Rorschach test type images. It looked like fallopian tubes/ womb area so I wanted to develop that by an idea to create layers, looking again into anatomy images and skeletal structures.

The decision to tesselate the image to create pattern as well as abstraction, looking at the possibilities of decoration and changing the meaning perception of an image by repetition and scale.
The idea is to hand print enough wall paper to cover the wall of my booth, I'm really excited to see how this image will look over a large area. I've never printed on this scale before.
