Linocut"Twins"

This is an A4 sized lino cut. I designed it from an initial sketch and the set the two figures together back to back in a circle. It feels a bit art deco and quite illustrative/ graphic design in style like a historical logo.

Setting it in the style of another era seems to give an image an instant history. I like the idea of creating new works in past style, it disturbs the time line of events but also reminds us that essentially human nature is enduring, good and bad and for all our new information I think our nature is unchanged.

to me this image represents duality within a person and and the circular nature of things. It has roots in the image Gemini ( the twins) astrology sign

First test print; There must have been oil residue on the plate that accidentally created this speckled texture- a happy accident and a technique id like to recreate as it looks like a constellation and goes with the Gemini symbolism of the twins,
