On our visit to the British Art Show at Wolverhampton this work by Paul Maheke caught my imagination. I knew at this point that I was working with hanging a fabric curtain so I wanted to document this work to give me ideas of possible ways to hang my curtain and how multiple piece create an area and give a sense of a room, or corridor or hallway, especially as it was accompanied by the amber lamp shades, again giving the feeling of a domestic environment in one sense and an intriguing "other" environment with the way its set out and the scale. The lights and colors all worked together in these rich amber colours felt warm and earthy. I like the write up that accompanies it as the artists talks about ghosts and memories which was a route I was looking into myself earlier in the project. |
My sketch of the installation in pencil and watercolour. |

This work " Double sided mirror" (below) By Joanna Piotrowska reminds me of the photography from "The Body" book that I referenced earlier in this project. I like how the face and hands seem to be abstracted from the rest of the body. a very intriguing and moody picture. I really like this. |
This work "Blank verse blanket man" (below) by Mandy El Sayegh Is probably most likened to what Im trying to achieve with my final out come in the way that its almost like a theatre set, its a fictional scene that draws on medical themes and aspects of anatomy.
