Today was overcast so I gave the cameras an extra 10- 20 second exposure time than the ones I took last time ,which was really sunny day.
I took the spiral staircase shot again and it worked better with the even, over cast light. On the sunny day it was hidden in shadow.
I also took a few of myself wearing the apron this time. I thought it wouldn't work as I was taking the photos myself so this involved movement,of taking off the shutter, walking to position ( standing in position around 40 seconds) then walking back to the camera to close it.
One didn't turn out at all- I think the shutter wasn't closed and too much light got in as the image was totally black or maybe the paper was fogged. One was quite clear, the one I prefer is a slightly transparent image of me in front of the church. This is really ghost like as you can see the building through the body. A home made, vintage selfie.
I think this just looks like a really old photo of a ghostly figure, the apron is clear but not my identity chuch is perfect for what I want to show. |
It's a mystery about the women here and by raising their names into this spring and wearing it myself, I then in the photograph become faceless and a part of the place and time.
I like this shot also but prefer the above, more ghost tly shot. |
I've only inverted the original negative via a phone app. I'm hoping to get a better resolution by scanning the image and getting a large print made.
