I've done quite a bit of research and a little experimentation so far. Moving forward, the areas of interest I would like to focus on are firstly making the apron with the names and seeing if that works visually, also thinking about how it would be displayed, a live model, a dummy, draped over something?
Along side this I would like to make two more pieces, one that focus on the unicorn and lion statues within the church, I'm thinking some kind of block print. I have done an initial sketch but that needs a little more work , simplifying/ stylising before its ready to be made to a print.
My third piece I'm thinking will be some kind of book that I will attempt to bind myself and contain visual information about he site from my research. A book, when associated with the religious nature of the building brings to mind a bible.
I like the symbolism and ritual associated with religion, there is room to play with these aspects, my focus being on the things I see and the stories I make from the information I am gathering, I'm not looking for a total factual representation, its more intuitive looking through the past, present, future, the holy trinity, the father, the son and holy ghost or in this case the maiden,the mother and crone. Everything in 3's a beginning, a middle and an end, a story.
