I'm not going forward with the book idea for this project. I was intending it to be a sample book. I think it will work better as part of the next project about lace. I've already looked at lace as part of the churches location within the lace market so I will approach the lace project as an extension of what I'm doing here.
So the thing for me to focus on now is how to display the apron and what supporting work to use.
I'm currently thinking of getting a large scale professional print of the pin hole camera shot of me wearing it.
I'm also working on a large scale lino block with a unicorn design based on the statue inside the church. Maybe I will rub the finished block into fabric similar to how I decorated the apron. I like the idea of printing onto paper or embossing the image and adding gold leaf.
I'm really looking a developing textures and layers that can be achieved with relief print/ rubbing techniques in keeping with the theme of traces and impressions.
In relation to my theme, I've chosen the unicorn for its striking image and its links to fantasy and fable and also the virginal maiden. Looking into themes of how a Victorian woman is mystified and the aspect of fantasy withing religion. Interweaving themes of fact, fantasy and history.
