Box Printing at home. Using my hands to apply different layers of colour, trying for a red/ brick colour pallet. I think the colour is too strong and not as pleased with the layout of the box shapes. A lot of trial and error with this process, but very enjoyable to play around with textures and colours and lots of happy accidents. Replication of the happy accidents is the key for creating something with all the right elements.
But needs something to tie it in with the location.

Box printing at home. Using a spoon to apply pressure. The detail is not as sharp as using the printing press as there's not as much pressure also as the paint wore off on the second pressing the spoon marks came through ( top picture), I like this effect, it's a lot softer and the top image has lots of layers and reminds me more of a city with soft blurred light. I think the stronger print over the softer prints looks quite clumsy and much prefer the sharpness achieved through the pressure of the printing press. |
Looking at details of brick, paint, plaster to generate a more accurate colour pallet to be more reflective of the area.
