Lace Landscape Prints

Moving on with this project and into the next I wanted experiment more with printing from objects and making landscapes. here I have two types of lace and some translucent net fabric. I first printed them just with ink and the effect was clear and very sharp and you can feel the lace texture embedded within the dried ink.
with the second lot of prints  made from the fabrics, I soften the ink by dripping a few drops of water onto the fabric and working it in before squeezing out the excess. This helped with coverage of ink on the fabric much better than using a roller. It also softened the ink.
The prints that followed were less physically textured , the. image looked a lot softer yet more detailed in a way that really looked like a photogram or photo copy of the lace. I'm really pleased with this small adjustment that has made such a huge difference to the quality and  look of the prints

This collage of images shows the damp fabrics and details from the prints they made. I composed them as a basic landscape,  brown earth, green grass, blue sky

The image on the left is the diluted ink, The right is the relief ink in its original consistency
The dry ink creates more of an textured outline. The diluted relief ink makes a softer image but picks up more range of tones and looks hyper real..

lace print detail.

simple landscape composition, like the detail and overlap of the lace

Simple trial print of net fabric with diluted ink, I like the varied distribution of ink creates a soft aged feel.
