History begins at home. I took a research trip to Mansfield Museum as its the neighbouring town to where I grew up ( Sutton in Ashfield doesn't have a museum) To explore the history of the folk.
Similar to Erewash museum though a little more modern. Mansfield museum is very much concerned with the industrial history of the town; Coal mining, shoe making, textile, Mansfield brewery, sand stone quary and metal box production. I have many family members who worked across these industries.
