Below is my submission to the green zine. I decided not to go with the acorn theme as really that's really an autumnal activity and this zine will go to press in the summer. So the acorn idea can be banked or used within my folklore project.
This is a contact print made from found, raw sheep's fleece and watered down lino print ink.
It was a large print so I used reduced the size by scanning ang printing. This sharpened up the detail and was able to fit more of the print into the page it was still too big though so I then used an A5 frame to select part of the print. The composition below contains the most interesting detail of the print.
I chose this print for the zine as although its abstract it looks very organic, map like, earthy yet ethereal. It reflects my feelings about nature.
Its an image that you can look at and create your own story. I like the detail created by the fibres in the fleece, the subtle changes of colour and strangeness of it.
Below images are just me working through options and selecting an area of the print to use.
