Following on from the thread wrapped branches and gilded bark sculptures I've been working on has led me back into thinking about the nature of folk costume both as a form of disguise as well as the symbolism. So I'm looking to disguise these natural objects with other natural/ animalistic materials, using fur transforms the branch into something animalistic as does the crow feathers on the antler shaped sticks. I also did cyanotype on a much larger branch of wood- traces of leaves on bare wood, the dressing and undressing of nature cycles.

I didn't cyanotyp over ends of the branch, wanting to keep some natural features of the wood visible. |

I like the texture of this natural growth on the bark Is a good contrast with they cyanotype and adds interest and steamgness to the overall look. |
