Wire Forms from nature

WIRE FORMS

PUMPKIN

Making 3D wire forms based on some of the natural objects I've been looking at. I took inspiration from a work I saw at the Breaking the Mould exhibition-_ Shelagh Wakely's Sculpture " Sine Qua Non"- a simple wire shape of a pair of shoes. I tried to create a similar skeleton of a pumpkin shape.

MUSHROOM  DETAIL
I tried to replicate the underside of a mushroom with this simple zig zag wire form above. Below I fleshed it out with some masking tape to make the lines appear softer.
 WIRE LEAVES
I twisted some wire into small, uniform leaf shapes...
Covered them with masking tape and attached them to a wire stem covered by a paper straw.
I photographed it against this mustard background to give an idea of autumn leaves.
I really liked this process and would like to develop it further. The more leaves I work with, the more my thoughts turn to autumn as the season is changing outside and I would like to explore the colours and patterns of autumn within this project.
