From the list of items, I feel most drawn to Byrons teapot as there are so many connections and possibilities I can explore. The connection of sugar, privilege and the slave trade, creating the funds to later renovate the Abbey to how it is today. |

Honeys reaction to Byrons tea pot hangs above it. Showing pots and cups attached to handcuffs symbolising the tea and sugar trade connections with slavery. |
The pattern of the tea pot and the story of the willow pattern interests me, I'm very drawn to the blue colour. Also the connection to Byron as it being a possession of his.
|
The tea pot isn't the only willow pattern possession of Byrons, willow pattern toilet bowl. ( I don't know if it belonged to Byron but I like to think it was his😁) |
Lastly the personal connection to my own work at the Abbey, serving tea in a vintage set up as part of my pop up tearoom.
