Exhibition set up and evaluation

I have made quite a lot of work for this project, I like to try lots of different process and jump straight into the making as that's how I figure things out rather that just working towards one big idea. I think the work I've made could be split into two different halves and exhibited separately. The first lots of work are around print and are all quite bright and illustrative of certain characters I've come across during my research., the Green Man, The Hobby Oss, The wolf. Then came the experiments with the found objects, wrapping the brightly coloured threads around found sticks and branches, this was what really led into my final work. Originally I was working with bright colours and crude imagery. I was also following the path of using things I already have or things I had found as a way to connect to a folk tradition of being resourceful as well as connection to the natural world that is so central to folk tradition. Alice Fox "Wild Textiles"

Author of "wild textiles" Alice fox is an artist based in Yorkshire working with natural materials that she finds, forages or grows in her own allotment. A real connection to nature and craft and very knowledgeable about materials and sustainability. A skilled crafts person with a fine art eye, She exhibits work as well as runs workshops. And describes her practice as process based. I think her work is beautiful and earthy and has a very folk feel to it, both old and modern as is nature -timeless- a constant and renewing source of inspiration for many creatives. Fits in with my current project jn terms of materials and connections with nature. I really like the egg she has covered in woven Dandelion stalks. A little nest. I've foraged some Dandelion stalks from my own garden and Hope they dry out jn time to try some weaving to add some details to my sculptural works. Taken from artists website.

Found Sounds

Making a sound scape with recordings I've made while out and about. Looking at bird song, rain, church bells, buskers and sampling small parts and layering them via reaper music software on my lap top. I've ordered a motion sensor playback device. I can upload the sounds into this and use it as part if my exhibition piece to add a dimension of sound and make a more immersive work. Waiting for this to arrive to transfer my sound scape to. Should work well in the exhibition as it's motion activated. I'm treating the sounds in a similar way to my other materials in this project.They are foraged nature sounds and lm looping a particular part of a bird song melody and adding reverb. I've layered chattering of birds to merge and panned out the sound so there's a depth and varied direction. I'm using a focusrite interface with reaper music software. Plugging my phone straight into the interface to lift the outdoor sound samples I captured on the phones recorder ...
