I like how the gold detail added to his print, brings warmth and luxury . |
Peacock feather at the Abbey. |
Gold is a symbol of opulence and wealth, there is a lot around the house and also a lot used in the chapel, gold was used a lot in places of worship to create awe to the glory of god and is a nod the houses original use as a religious building.
Peacocks are native to India and many country houses would keep them as a status symbol, again opulence, the Peacock is the epitome of flamboyance and show.
I took this screen grab of this gorgeous Peacock gown as an extension of inspiration.
A couple of examples of gold leaf embellishment within the house. A ceiling rose and a Byron portrait.
