Artist research "The Body" Photography Book

I was really inspired by the images in this book. I like how it was divided into different sections looking at traditional nude photography and them the very abstract images achieved by close up camera angles and exclusion of other body parts, it was confusing as to what part of the body or if it was even from a body at all.

I really liked this image. As an extension of or life drawing lessons I was looking for images to make sketches from, I was sticking with a female model. I like the pose here and developed it into a lino cut design that I felt was very effective and striking as a decorative image.
I'm exploring the idea of the human body as a source of inspiration for decorative art, especially the way women have long  been viewed with an emphasis on image equating  value and status.
so looking into making actual objects to symbol this objectification.

This image I used as the source image for the tattooed orange. Again the link with life drawing and transferring these images onto objects

The following images (above and below) interest me in how they are abstracted by the exclusion of the rest of the form and focusing on certain body parts becomes disorientating and the use of lighting and black and white photography emphasise this.

I like this image for its vintage quality, its Victorian so is very risky for its time, probably more soft porn disguised as art photography.
