Sherwood forest folklore

I took these images of oak trees at Sherwood forest earlier in the year when it was still winter. I love the twisty branches, they are very dramatic and no winder the subject of much folk lore. Living in Nottingham I cannot go without mentioning one of the most famous folk hero's Robin Hood
living in the forest with his band of outlaws and sticking it to the man!
I think theres quite a cross over with the character of the green man and Robin hood as well.
